How is running pace calculated?
Pace is time divided by distance. Run 10 kilometers in 50 minutes and your pace is 50 ÷ 10, which is 5:00 per kilometer. The other two follow from it: time is pace times distance, and distance is time divided by pace.
The calculator rounds to the nearest second, and only at the end. Splits are calculated from the exact pace, so the last one is always your finish time. A rounded pace can be up to half a second off per kilometer, which adds up to 21 seconds over a marathon. When a goal time matters, follow the splits rather than the pace alone.
How do I convert pace per kilometer to pace per mile?
A mile is 1.609344 kilometers. Multiply your pace per kilometer by 1.609 to get your pace per mile, and divide to go back. A pace of 5:00 per kilometer is 8:03 per mile. The calculator shows both.

Your own pace, run by run
Kiiro reads your Apple Watch runs from Apple Health and breaks every one down: map, splits, heart rate, pace and cadence. Runs on the same route are lined up automatically, so you can see your pace on it change over time. See route comparison in Kiiro.
