Resting heart rate is the number of times your heart beats in one minute when you are calm and not moving. It shows how fit your heart is: a lower resting heart rate usually means a healthier heart.
How to read it
- As endurance fitness improves, resting heart rate tends to drift down over months.
- A resting heart rate several beats above your normal for a few days can be a sign of fatigue, illness or too little recovery.
- Like HRV, it is personal. Watch your own trend.
Why Kiiro asks for it
Kiiro measures how hard a workout was relative to your own range, from your resting heart rate up to your maximum. Knowing your resting heart rate makes your training load personal to you. Kiiro also shows the resting heart rate trend that Apple Watch records in Apple Health.
