Fitness level

Fitness level looks at your longer-term training, roughly the past six weeks. It represents your overall fitness and training base, and it builds gradually as you stay consistent.

How to read it

Fitness level moves slowly. A single big week barely changes it; several consistent weeks do. It falls slowly too, which is why a few days off cost you very little.

It is a measure of how much training you are used to, not a lab test of fitness. Two runners with the same fitness level can race very differently. What it tells you is how much load your body is prepared for right now.

How Kiiro calculates it

Fitness level is a weighted average of your daily training load over 42 days, with newer days counting more than older ones.

In the app it is the “Fitness level” line on the training load chart, and Kiiro also shows your highest fitness so far. Compared with your acute load, it gives your load balance.

  • Load balance and status: Load balance compares your current training load with your long-term fitness. Your status, from Undertrained to Overtrained, is the one-word version of it.
